Venniyil Dr. Sukumara Pillai Memorial (VSM) Hospital was established in 1992 by the visionary physician Dr. V. S. Viswanathan, in loving memory of his father, Dr. Sukumara Pillai. Dr. Sukumara Pillai was among the rare and dedicated voluntary doctors who selflessly served in a leprosy sanitarium, setting an enduring example of compassion and service to humanity.
What began as a modest primary care center has grown into one of the most trusted and well-established healthcare institutions in Central Travancore. Today, VSM Hospital is a 300-bed, multi-specialty and super-specialty hospital offering comprehensive medical services across departments such as Nephrology, Neurology, Cardiology, Urology, Orthopedics, and many more.
